Last week, Nolan and I headed down to Kierland to meet some of my girlfriends from work for lunch. This turned into a fun afternoon of sushi with a large group of girls and then of course, a little shopping with Erin & Allison....something I'm determined to teach Nolan to enjoy! We meandered through a few shops and then headed into a cute new boutique called "Peek" to check out what sort of kids clothing they had. Turns out, they had the most adorable clothes and even had a section of stuffed animals similar Nolan's giraffe (Raffey as we call it) that he takes everywhere with him. This is where Nolan's Aunt Erin & Aunt Allison went a little crazy...they insisted that because he loves Raffey so much, he should also have a Frog, a Zebra and a GYNORMOUS Monkey. I tried to argue with them and convince them that this was frivolous, but to no avail. In fact, they insinuated that my arguing with them was making Nolan upset!!! As you can see from below, they certainly enjoyed buying him these animals and clothes, and he is DEFINITELY enjoying cuddling up to his new little friends.
What's even better is that because all these new "friends" have the same texture and feel, we don't have to worry about him only having Raffey as his take-along animal. From an early age, we've given him Raffey when he travels in his car seat or goes down for his daytime naps. This give him something familiar & comforting and he's even taught him to somewhat "self-soothe" by petting Raffey and rubbing him against his face while he tries to calm down for a nap. Now we can switch Raffey out with his other stuffed animals and don't have to worry about having just one, thus preventing the inevitable tragedy of one getting damaged or lost!
While the weather is still too warm here for him to wear his little cute zip-up sweatshirt & monkey t-shirt that Erin bought him, I promise to post pictures of this outfit when things cool down. It's seriously adorable and and makes him look so grown up! Apparently, the Zebra tastes good!
