Strollers are good for more than babies....

Before Penelope was born, one of my best friends (Erin, aka Auntie E) bought a second home in Chicago. Having grown up in the Midwest, I frequented Chicago a decent amount growing up (didn't hurt that my childhood best friend was from Chicago!) and have fond memories of it. So, when Erin suggested we do a girls trip while I was on maternity leave, I jumped on it.

Just 8 weeks after Pen was born, we hopped on a plane for a quick 3 day weekend in the city. Penelope was an ANGEL on the flight, falling asleep before take-off and waking just as we landed. Of course, she slept so well because she was in Auntie E's arms the whole time just snuggled up and enjoying being held.
The weekend was crazy! We shopped like mad, ate great meals both out and at the condo and accomplished so much. We painted the master bedroom in a beautiful metallic silver, hung shades in family and dining room, hung drapes in the bedrooms, taped off the dining room for our wallpaper project and made countless trips to Home Depot and Bed Bath and Beyond. Every time we went out, we took the stroller for Pen, but really used it as a shopping cart to get things home (obviously we carried Pen at that point and didn't pile stuff on top of her like people on the street thought we had!). This is what Pen looked like when we left the house in the morning. All snuggled up in her stroller and ready to ride/sleep the day away. And this is what Pen looked like about 2 hours into our day - all snuggled in her wrap being carried. Not because she was fussy, but because we needed the stroller to haul around the goods we'd purchased!
Can you believe how much stuff can fit into this little stroller?!?!? We walked miles (and I mean MILES) through Chicago with the strolled loaded down. It was crazy!!!
Oh, and not only did we shop for the condo, but Auntie bought Pen her first hair accessory (she's going to need a bunch of them to cover up her funky hairline:)). Just how cute is this!?!?
And here's Pen sleeping on Auntie's knees in the airport as we wait for our flight home. I think we tuckered her out, don't you?
