We had Nolan's 1st Birthday party this past week and oh, what fun we had! Nolan was a little stinker and decided to take an extra long nap...so I had to go in and wake him up so he could join the party.
Since we've always called him "our little monkey", the monkey theme seemed fitting. He had a blast and, while Brian and I were exhausted afterwards, it was all worth it. Nearly 40 people joined us to celebrate - family, friends and co-workers! We had tons of food including chocolate dipped bananas and two monkey cakes (one of them the infamous ding-dong cake that we all love!) And to top it all off, a Monkey pinata that was definitely the hit of the party. Not sure how we're going to top this next year for his second birthday...I guess I'm hoping he doesn't quite remember the big show we put on for him this year :)
