He's on the Move

For the last couple of months, Nolan has been attempting to crawl, and nearly every day we think we are going to be in for the big moment. However, he just hadn't figured out how to move his arms forward, so he had this awkward rocking move and then he'd push himself into the seated position. While this is a slow way to move around, he has become very good at it and can cover some ground if you aren't watching him too closely.

Today, though, all things changed. I was in the laundry room folding clothes, when Brian yelled "Meg, you gotta come here. You don't want to miss this for laundry!". I walked into the living room to find Nolan and Brian (side by side) in the crawling position. Now this isn't such a rare occurrence because we would frequently try to demonstrate how to crawl to Nolan. But this time, he actually crawled....the goal was for him to make it to his current favorite toy: the dump truck. It was super-cute and awkward. Kind of like the pictures you see of a newborn colt walking for the first time. Here's a video of him just a couple of hours later...still pretty awkward, but he's definitely got the hang of it!
